| BRUSA Elektronik AG develops consistently the competence in the drive development. |
Electric, hybrid and fuel cell vehicles all employ different kinds of electric traction and auxiliary drives (air compressors, power steering, hydraulic pumps, ...). In order to fulfil the specific requirements of every application optimally, the different motor and inverter technologies must be mastered comprehensively and the total system must be understood thoroughly. BRUSA develops this know-how systematically and continually.

|
We are now in the position to compute fields for all kinds of motors by the Finite Elements Method (FEM) and thus to find and confirm the optimum design in an early development stage.
Since each application has its own requirement profile, thorough clarifications by means of realistic simulation are of great advantage.

| BRUSA Elektronik AG develops new range of compact electric drive inverters. |
| BRUSA Elektronik AG develops a new range of inverters for AC electric drives up to 900VDC / 200kW. The extremely flat units (below 100mm) are intended for hybrid / electric buses and trucks, models for smaller vehicles will follow. Prices will be comparable to conventional designs, while volume and weight are cut in half. Universal design and flexible software - employing vector control - supports all types of AC motors (induction, PM synchronous, hybrid synchronous) from high torque to high speed drives. First samples are expected by mid 2006. |
|
Big and slow high torque motors are feasible as well as small high speed motors up to 100'000 rpm. Typical Applications are drives for battery and hybrid electric vehicles (cars, buses and trucks), geared motors, direct drives (e.g. wheel hub motors), crankshaft starter generators, compressor turbines for pressurized air systems, air conditioning systems or exhaust turbines for high temperature fuel cells, and linear drives for free piston engines.

| SoftSwing® is used in the future in all applications higher than 200 V. |
SoftSwing® allows:
high switching frequency
high efficiency converters and inverters
compact design
low motor losses (current ripple)
high speed motors (up to 100'000 rpm)
to avoid EMI and thus cut down on bulky and costly filters.
