Description
The BDC412 is a bidirectional DC/DC-converter with common minus on high-side and low-side. The power stage is realized with the new resonant SoftSwing - topology, which reduces switching losses to an absolute minimum and results in an excellent EMC-behavior. As a consequence the device is extremely compact and lightweight.
The BDC412 finds its application especially in fuel cell vehicles with a high voltage auxiliary battery. The DC/DC-converter is able to regulate the high-side voltage, respectively the voltage on the fuel cell side and can therefore provide very dynamically energy for the traction system and compensate herewith the fuel cells inertia.
But generally, the BDC412 can be deployed wherever energy has to be transferred from one potential to another one. This device has an excellent flexibility, so that other or additional regulation features can be implemented upon request.
