Volvo C30 Electric

As an important part of the development of e-mobility suitable for everyday use and as part of its ambitious environmental strategy, Volvo has built a series of electric Volvo C30s that have been fully equipped with drive components from BRUSA Elektronik AG.

In addition, the Volvo C30 Electric Generation II is equipped with BRUSA's innovative 22 kW onboard charger NLG664. This shortens the charging time for a charge of 30 to 90 percent under an hour. The charger of an electric car plays a crucial role, for example when it comes to battery life or electrical safety. Both the BRUSA NLG513 (3.7 kW), which is installed in the first series of the C30 Electric, and the BRUSA NLG664 (22 kW) follow the principle of galvanic separation in order to ensure maximum electrical safety for users and the charging infrastructure and belong making it one of the safest chargers on the market.

Smart Fortwo Electric Drive

Of the Smart Fortwo Electric Drive can optionally be purchased with BRUSA's fast charger NLG664. It is the world's first charger that can be operated on three-phase three-phase connections. At the same time, it can be installed directly in the electric car without any problems. With a charging power of 22 kW, the charging speed of a typical electric car such as the Smart Fortwo Electric Drive up to 80 percent in just 45 minutes.

Electric sprinter from Kreisel

Kreisel Electric developed the Mercedes Sprinter as an electric van. BRUSA supplies the DTSP1 motor-gearbox combination with the shorter HSM1-10.18.13 motor. A 90 kWh battery guarantees a range of 300 kilometers. A 44 kW on-board charger is also included. The economic efficiency achieved through the electrical efficiency, the practical use and the special consideration for the environment are in the Kreisel Electric Sprinter optimally united. A clear lead, not only in logistics and fleet use with a payload of up to 3.5 t.

VW Caddy

The VW Caddy is a van converted by BRUSA with a fully electric drive. This car was developed to demonstrate that an electric vehicle with an acceptable range does not have to sacrifice space for payloads. With an empty weight of approx. 1800 kg, the Caddy - powered by the latest generation of electric motors from BRUSA - accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 13 seconds. This acceleration is achieved through the use of a hybrid synchronous motor HSM1 with 100 kW power on the front axle.

BRUSA is an official member of Innovation network GeMo which is coordinated by the Fraunhofer Institute. BRUSA Elektronik AG played a key role in the development and integration of the electric drive train in the VW Caddy.

eRod from Kyburz drives with BRUSA

The eRod is a puristic street-legal sports car from the company Kyburz . In the prototype eRod Race With an output of 150 kW, the Swiss company installed a complete set of components from BRUSA Elektronik. This includes the DTSO1-096 drive set with the HSM1-10.18.13 motor, the DMC534 converter, the NLG664 charger and the BSC624 DC / DC converter. Uncompromising in terms of technology and driving behavior, the eRod offers passionate drivers maximum driving pleasure. Flurin Vicentini, Head of Development at Kyburz, sums it up: "For the flagship of the eRod series, the eRod Race, only the best is good enough, which is why we do not compromise when it comes to performance and use the BRUSA drive." The powerful electric drive provides the thrust that is fun. The eRod is offered both as a small series and as a kit.

Green GT H2 fuel cell vehicle

The French fuel cell vehicle GreenGT H2 with 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (HSM) from BRUSA was presented in Le Castellet in spring 2015. Even more: Ex-Formula 1 driver Olivier Panis, who has been supporting Jean-Francois Weber's ambitious project for some time, reeled a few kilometers with the GreenGT H2 as part of the WTCC event in southern France. "I've always been a fan of the technology in all of the motorsport classes I've driven in," says Panis. "The GreenGT H2 is an amazing car. It's a real solution for the future. Only water vapor comes out of the exhaust, and the vehicle does not need batteries. The performance on the track is comparable to that of conventional vehicles with internal combustion engines - and further developments are sure to follow. "

Formula Student teams

The completely new motor IPM1-10.09.06 from BRUSA has been precisely matched and optimized for the "Formula Student" application.

Electric truck E-FORCE

Under the motto “The better truck”, the new electric truck “ E-FORCE “Another milestone in electromobility came into being. E-FORCE ONE AG with the support of Designwerk GmbH and Lithium Storage is building the electric 18-tonner for the regional and urban goods distribution service and has already won customers such as Feldschlösschen and Coop, whose fleets are already using the first E-FORCE.

Iveco Daily Electric

First electric excavator

As part of the focus project SUNCAR (ETH Zurich, NTB Buchs, Industry) the first electric excavator was developed. An electric excavator needs an enormously large battery in order to be sufficiently powerful. In autumn 2014 he dredged a biotope in a forest without the usual noise. The excavator used renewable energy for this. Thanks to the greater efficiency of the electric drive, it needs three times less energy than conventional excavators. The goal is a factor of five and that with a 15-ton excavator that works for eight hours in electric mode. BRUSA supplied two NLG664 chargers for this project.

In 2015, the solar excavator was awarded the European solar award excellent. Compared to a diesel excavator, it emits 40 t of CO annually 2 less and saves CHF 21,000 per year in fuel.

Mercedes-Benz Citaro FuelCELL Hybrid

The Mercedes-Benz Citaro FuelCELL-Hybrid is a bus with fuel cell hybrid drive manufactured by the German commercial vehicle manufacturer Mercedes-Benz based on the successful Citaro bus model. It differs from the previous series in that it has a serial hybrid drive. It is driven by two electric wheel hub motors on the rear axle, each with a maximum output of 80 kW. The core element is the fuel cell consisting of two modules of 396 individual cells each with a total output of 120 kW. The DC / DC converter BDC546 from BRUSA is used in all Mercedes-Benz Citaro FuelCELL Hybrids.

In the course of various research and funding projects, the Citaro FuelCELL Hybrid is used to test the everyday suitability of the fuel cell drive in local public transport.

Zerotracer

The Zerotracer is an electrically powered cabin motorcycle that offers the comfort of a car and the driving experience of a motorcycle at the same time. Due to its high aerodynamic efficiency (Cd value 0.18) and the extremely powerful electric drive, the hybrid synchronous motor HSM1-6.17.12 from BRUSA, the Zerotracer gets from 0-100 km / h faster than a Porsche 911 and can theoretically Reach a speed of well over 300 km / h (currently electronically limited to 240 km / h). Thanks to the BRUSA high-performance battery EVB1-400-40 and the very low energy consumption, the Zerotracer can cover more than 300 km with just one charge. Fast charging of the battery (80 percent) with the NLG513 charger from BRUSA takes less than 30 minutes, and a full charging phase takes less than two hours.

In 2010/2011 this vehicle made a circumnavigation of the world in record time ( Zero Emission Race ). All BRUSA components reliably endured the hardships. Even extreme voltage fluctuations in exotic countries could not bring the charger out of sync. Another insight: There is electricity everywhere in the world!

The DMC544 is the most powerful inverter from BRUSA. It can be used to control different types of motors. The power output stage is based on the highly efficient, resonant SoftSwing® topology, which was developed and patented by BRUSA Elektronik AG.

Our motors offer continuous power and are therefore ideally suited for electric vehicles that need to achieve high initial acceleration as well as high final speeds without a manual gearbox.

Our converters have unmatched versatility. For example, in fuel cell applications, bidirectional operation allows the fuel cell auxiliary circuits to start, and the adjustable controls facilitate implementation in a variety of applications.

BRUSA Wireless Power Transfer System ICS 1 is the first and only product certified according to IEC 61980. The system is based on BRUSA's own FRAME® technology.
